Arts Advocacy Day 2010
Tuesday, April 13 – AATA joined with hundreds of other advocates from all over the US to participate in Arts Advocacy Day events on Capitol Hill, supporting arts funding and acknowledging the importance of the arts in our lives and communities. AATA national office staff and members from several states attended a House of Representatives hearing, Arts Build Communities, and met with members of Congress.
After the hearing, our Director of Public Policy Julie Clark and former Board Member Irene Rosner David, spoke with U.S. Rep. Jim Moran about art therapy and veterans and with General Nolen Bivens about his testimony on the importance of creative arts therapies in military hospitals. See the Arts Advocacy press page at www.artsusa.org.
