Who are we?
The AzATA Chapter is not afraid to think and act outside the box when it comes to current and future trends in the field of Art Therapy. We offer dynamically informative and creative member workshops that allow for us to see the beautiful state in which we live. Our workshops are held in various parts of Arizona two or three times a year. Some of the past member workshops/ events have included field trips and multi-modal expressive therapies such as music therapy, drumming workshops and a variety of expressive arts experiences. Our organization is continually growing and transforming with creative, capable and competent professionals who hold diverse qualifications. There is a visible growth for opportunities and positions to practice art therapy in the private and public sectors.

Why become an AzATA member?
Becoming a member of AzATA provides you with a creative, energetic and supportive network of art therapists in our state. As a member you will have access to our AzATA Yahoo group by which many members have been able to make connections in the job market as practicing art therapists.

What resources are there to grow professionally?

  • There are two educational programs that offer degrees in Expressive Arts Therapy. They are Ottawa University in Phoenix and Prescott College.
  • For current legislative matters, you can check out the following informational resources from the AZ Board of Behavioral Health at www.bbhe.state.az.us
  • We are looking forward to you joining us in the beautiful Grand Canyon State!
